Clinical Supervision
Training:
I have a Diploma in Counselling (1998) as well as an Advance Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling (2010) and an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (2010) from the Minster Centre North London. I am a qualified supervisor (RS) and have a Diploma in Integrative Supervision (2013). I have trained in workplace supervision and gained a Certificate in Supervision Studies (2006). I am a qualified DIT psychotherapist and am currently undertaking training to become a DIT supervisor. I am UKCP registered and am on the Professional standards accredited registry.
Experience:
My working life has been mainly spent in the voluntary sector working with young people, and people who have become homeless. While I was studying for my qualification in social work, I became interested in workplace issues. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist since 2009 working with adults (18+)
My particular interest is in supporting people develop their professional work by exploring and reflecting on their work practice in different settings including the voluntary sector and faith communities. I ran a counselling service for over 6 years and now maintain a private practice and as well as some NHS work.
How I work:
In my clinical and supervision work I use listening skills and empathy to help people explore their concerns in a non-judgmental way. I aim to create a relationship of exploration and openness.
I have an integrative counselling and supervision approach that uses influences and tools from several models to create an individual style for each person. I offer supervision for clinical supervision for therapists as well as workplace supervision, and pastoral supervision for clergy and pastoral workers. I also offer supervision for youth work students.
Workplace and clinical supervision are usually offered between 60 - 90 minutes and we will discuss at our initial session times and frequency. Throughout our work together there is the opportunity to review these arrangements.
